I was thinking about everything going on in financial markets and geopolitics and found a presentation I put together a few years ago in grad school. I titled War Without End - the argument was that we are living in an endless state of war with no defined time or space, enabled by legal ambiguities around drone technologies, metadata, and AI.
Everything I predicted has only gotten worse.
The video is 15 minutes, the framing is academic (forgive me, I had two master’s degrees to finish), but I’ve been toying with the idea of updating this as a proper video essay depending on how much interest it draws because the updates write themselves at this point.
Part 2 would perhaps cover AI kill lists, Ukraine producing 5 million drones a year, the fact that space warfare is now official U.S. military doctrine, and how every far-right party that I flagged in this video (from Sept. 2021!) has either entered government or doubled its vote share. The updates write themselves.
